Beginner’s Beekeeping Class
Objective: Learn about the basics of beekeeping, and honey collection. You will learn what equipment is needed, how to handle honey bees, creating a Healthy Hive, potential problems for our bee population and resources from our local bee club to assist you in getting started.
Location: Ohio State University, 16714 Wolf Run Road, Caldwell, Ohio
Sponsors: Guernsey Noble Beekeepers & Ohio State University Extension, Noble County
Sessions: There will be a 5-hour classroom session (9am to 2 pm) on Saturday, March 5th at Extension Operation Office, Caldwell (Formally known Southeast Regional Extension Office). Other sessions are: April – On site inspection at the Apiary. June – On site Hive management for Bee Expansion & honey production. August – Varroa Management and other disease. September – Preparation for Winter. Also available will be Electronic Mentoring from the instructors.
Cost: $35.00 which includes membership to the Guernsey Noble Beekeepers Association and one year membership in the Ohio State Beekeepers.
